NEW DELHI, JANUARY 11: A young tigress died of injuries in the Corbett National Park on Monday last. ‘‘The tigress, a little over two years old, was injured a couple of weeks back when a male tiger tried to climb on her. The carcass was found on January 9 near Garjia Sot in Bijrani range and a medical examination was conducted. For all we know, the male was probably too powerful... It’s a natural death,’’ Deputy Field Director Vivek Pande said.

Meanwhile, UP police seized 14 leopard skins from a house near Allahabad yesterday. ‘‘We had information that some wildlife objects are stocked at the residence of one Ameer. When our men broke open, they found 14 leopard skins. We are now looking for Ameer and his son Imran,’’ Fatehpur SP Vir Bahadur Singh said.

In MP, one large tiger skin, two leopard skins and a hyena skin were seized by the Omni Police near Jabalpur yesterday.
