14 leopard skins seized in Uttar Pradesh

Fatehpur: As many as 14 leopard skins were today seized during a police raid in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police Superintendent Vir Bahadur Singh said a police team raided house of one Imran, in the Nasevir Baba locality and seized 14 leopard skins from the spot.

However, no arrests could be made, he added.

This is second such seizure here during the last few days.

Remains of endangered species including Cheetah and leopard were seized during earlier raids, he said.

The SP said hand of international smugglers behind the two seizures could not be ruled out.

Further investigations are on, Mr Singh said.
