Leopard skin seized

KASARGOD: The police have seized the skin of a leopard and a tiger from a house in Puthige and arrested a person in connection with the incident.
K. Radhakrishna Bhat, 43, was arrested by the police from his house and has now been remanded in judicial custody. A police party led by Kumbla Circle Inspector K. Ashraf raided the house of Radhakrishna Bhat and seized the hide following a tip-off.
Radhakrishna Bhat had purchased the feline skins from a person in Wayanad a few months ago, said the police.
He bought the skin, which had bullet holes and claws of the feline, for an ashram.
Meanwhile, the police in Puthur, a border town in Karnataka, arrested three Kasargod natives Shankara Kajambadi, 48, of Perla, Sivaraj, 28, of Enmakaje and Yousef, 36, of Kattukukkai for possessing leopard skins.
