Amur Leopard Conservation Support Program's latest newsletter

Tuesday 22 August 2006 at 15:18

The Amur Leopard Conservation Support Programme has grown out of the increasing coordination of the conservation work for Amur leopards between several key organizations - namely The Tigris Foundation, The Zoological Society of London, Moscow Zoo, Phoenix, AMUR and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). This group, along with additional funding partners, has formed the Amur Leopard and Tiger Alliance and is working to increase public awareness of and political support for the conservation of both the Amur leopard and the Amur tiger. The latest ALTA Newsletter is now available and tells about Phoenix receiving the prestigious Whitley Award, a new Darwin Initiative on leopard and wildlife health, the success of the pipeline campaign, WCS efforts to conserve tigers in China and Russia, anti-logging activities and others news.
