The Proceedings of the Second International Seminar on Conservation of the Iberian lynx held in Córdoba, Spain on 15-17 December 2004 are now available [initially posted on the Cat Library]. This seminar took place in the context of the ongoing LIFE-Nature project "Recovery of populations of the Iberian Lynx in Andalucia" (LIFE02 NAT/E/8609). The event allowed participants to reach common agreement on a variety of topics relevant to the study and conservation of the Iberian lynx. As most of these actions are being undertaken by the current LIFE-Nature project, the conclusions of the Congress were also partially the technical conclusions of this project. The results of past LIFE project actions in Extremadura, Spain and in Portugal and their continuation were also reviewed. This highlighted the value of the LIFE programme in considering an entire range of issues, when protecting endangered species on-site.
