Nov 9 2006 12:48PM

The fifth mountain lion has been killed in North Dakota.

This means the season is now closed.

The cat was shot near New Salem this morning.

The New Salem Vet Clinic says an employee saw the mountain lion near the clinic.

The Veternary clinic is north of New Salem on the edge of town.

During this years experimental mountain lion season five cats have been taken before the first one was shot in last year's season.

All the cats killed last year were within a 60 mile radius of Grassy Butte.

This year they've been more scattered.

They were shot near New Salem, Dawson, Washburn, Lansford and Grassy Butte.
