Female cougar hunting closes in some Montana districts

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks on Friday announced the closure of female mountain lion hunting in northcentral Montana hunting districts 400, 401, 403, 406, 415, and 441.

The region includes portions of Toole, Pondera, Liberty, Chouteau, Glacier and Teton counties. The closure is effective at one-half hour after sunset on Saturday.

The closure notice was issued after Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest sub-quota for the districts combined had been met.
