Pune, March 9 School children from more than 30 schools in the city on Saturday did their bit 'to save tiger' as part of the 'Kids for Tigers' campaign organised on Saturday. The project is an attempt to create a platform for children to air their views and thoughts on saving India's big five — tiger, lion, leopard, elephant and rhinoceros. In the inter-school event organised by Sanctuary Asia, a number of activities including information stalls on endangered species along with competitions like mask-making, face-painting, collage and fancy dress were conducted.

The campaign also included interactions between parents, teachers and naturalists. "We have been carrying out a number of activities for social cause. But our prime focus remains on school-children taking part in various such activities. The best part about this campaign is that it is an event open for all those who want to come together towards saving tiger. So it is not only schools but NGOs like Akanksha Foundation as well who have joined us in this noble cause," said Jayesh Paranjpe, marketing assistant, Sanctuary Asia.

The campaign carried out since November 2007 has reached out to more than 20 cities covering 550 schools.
