Another tiger found dead in Kaziranga
Saturday, February 14, 2009, (Kaziranga (Assam))
One more tiger has been found dead in the Kaziranga district of Assam. The tiger was found in the Kohora range of Kaziranga.
Since November 2008, this is the ninth tiger to be found dead.
Park authorities have once again said that it's due to infighting between the animals, however, the tiger experts do not believe what park authorities have to say.
NDTV had last week shown few pictures of a dead tiger. A bottle of Thyadine used as poison was found with tiger bones buried somewhere in the park.
Authorities have said this is due to conflict with fringe villagers who poison tigers lifting cattle. Wildlife research agencies say the number is too high for conflict alone. And there's already credible information that tiger poachers from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have been sent to Kaziranga. Clearly after rhinos, Kaziranga's tigers are in danger.
