Leopard found dead in J&K

Jammu, Dec 23 (PTI) A leopard was today found dead in the forest belt of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, wildlife department officials said.

Villagers, who had gone to forest belt to fetch fire wood, told the officials about the leopard following which the Wildlife officials rushed to Taragai-Kotranaka forest belt in Rajouri district and found the animal dead this morning, they told PTI.

The carcase of the leopard was recovered and sent to Animal husbandry hospital, where post-mortem was conducted, they said, adding the reason behind the animal's death would be known only after the report is received.
