BANGALORE: Seven tigers were spotted on Saturday, the second day of the six-day tiger census at various wildlife habitats in the state, part of the nationwide tiger census that began on January 22.

The 2010 census is being carried out in all forests across the state with conservators and enthusiasts trailing tigers.

Two tigers were spotted in Nagarahole, three in Biligiri Ranga Temple and two in Bandipur.

The six-day tiger census holds special importance for Karnataka as it would decide if Karnataka can retain its title of ‘World Leader in Tiger Conservation’ as adjudged by the World Bank and the Smithsonian Institute.,+day+2&artid=MssJ2tGWWkI=&SectionID=7GUA38txp3s=&MainSectionID=fyV9T2jIa4A=&SectionName=zkvyRoWGpmWSxZV2TGM5XQ==&SEO=
